Anglesey Abbey, Cambridge.

Sunday 28th September. Anglesey Abbey, Cambridge.

Mileage Start 14420 End 14634 = 214 miles

It was another nice, sunny day so we decided to take Tallulah to visit Verity in Cambridge as she hadn't yet seen her.  We arrived mid morning and after a quick coffee we got Jackson's car seat fitted and set off for a visit to Anglesey Abbey.

Anglesey Abbey is a National Trust property.  It is a large Jacobean, country house that was formerly a priory.  It is in the village of Lode.  You can find out more here: Anglesey Abbey  There are 98 acres of beautiful landscaped grounds, ideal for walks on sunny days.  There is also a working mill where you can buy flour.

Here are some photos of the day.

Lunch was important before we got started!
Look at my little cutie pie.  He can crawl now.
The Himalayan Silver Birch Grove was one of my favourite parts.  They were just starting to decorate it for the winter lights.

This is the avenue of trees and is beautiful.  Not sure what the little flowers were but they were so pretty.

Just love this bronze statue as the dogs are so realistic.
Stopping for a rest.

The flower gardens were just lovely even though they were past their best.  I took a ton of close ups. I LOVE flower close ups!  I did try to put them in a slide show but for some reason it wasn't happening.  Anyone able to tell me what you use to make slide shows?  Anyway, as it didn't work I am just going to post some of them here.  Enjoy.

Aren't they just awesome?  Anglesey Abbey is a truly lovely place and we will visit again in different seasons.
